Kang Dong-Won (강동원) is a South Korean film and television actor. He was born on 18 January 1981 in Pusan, South Korea. He was a professional model before he started in TV dramas and movies.

With its beautiful androgynous look, Kang Dong-Won is considered one of the leading stars of the second generation Hallyu (Korean Wave) and achieved fame in the Asian countries, particularly in Japan. He is probably the most promising young actors on the Korean film industry, after his acclaimed performance in "Maundy Thursday (2006).

His ability to act, which has long been overshadowed by his appearance and popularity, was still serious in the recent hit film "his voice (2007), where he appears only on voice.
